 of Nitto Co., Ltd. Bicycle Handlebar (Model No. B259AA) for Road Bicycles 

Potential hazard of handlebar break while riding, resulting in loss of control and falls

Nitto Co., Ltd. (“NITTO”) announces that due to the incidents that Nitto has been
reported to date, Nitto decided to recall the subject model and to replace it with a free substitution model. 

 Users of the subject model products are kindly requested to stop riding,contact us and
 ship the subject product to our attention in the manners that follow.

Name of Product : NITTO Bicycle Handlebar, Model No. B259AA made of aluminum.

Units        : 5,985 units in total, exported from January 5, 2008 to July 10, 2011.

Manufactured in : Japan

Marketed in   : As far as we were advised, those units had been exported to the US,
            Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Swiss, Singapore, Malaysia,
            Indonesia, and Australia.

How to identify :For users in the United States and Canada
            - It is kindly requested to contact
            Euro Asia Import, Inc. by visiting their web site
            www.euroasiaimports.com  or call them at (888) 662-1814
            for more information, as there are similar products that are not subject to
            this recall.

            For other users - In order to identify B259AA, please refer to the
            following pictures and find the carved seals for identification.

The product may have a variety of colors, such as red, blue, gold and so forth. The product has at the grip end carved seals that read “NITTO B259” and two alphabet letters. The product has a center collar at the middle and a carved seal that reads “NITTO”

-NOTICE-  Those that have no center collar or “ferule” are either made of steel or
       of the model B2591 and are NOT subject to this recall campaign.


Remedy      : For users in the United States and Canada
            - Please contact bike dealer you purchased your bar or contact Euro
             Asia Imports for detailed information.

            For other users - Please contact bike dealer you purchased your bar or
            contact us with question form below.

     
           Users are kindly requested to ship their handlebars to the dealer or us
           for a free replacement of the substitution handlebars, Model B260AA.
           Your shipping charge will also be reimbursed.

 INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE NITTO B260AA HANDLEBAR

  1.First, please confirm the bar you are going to assemble is right one.
    It has “B260AA” carved seal on center collar.

  2.Insert the handlebar through the stem clamp.

  3.Tighten the clamp fixing bolt slightly. If your stem uses more than one
    clamp fixing bolt, tighten each slightly and evenly. Tighten just enough
   to hold the bar in position.

  4.Center the handlebar in the stem. Adjust the angle to your preference.

  5.Tighten the fixing bolt. If your stem uses up to four bolts, tighten each bolt
   slightly and evenly.

  6.Confirm that the handlebar is secure and won’t rotate in the clamp.

  7.Install the brake lever and tighten the lever clamp bolt. Install grips or
   handlebar tape and enjoy your bike in a sensible manner.
